Surat city BJP seeks funds for six projects from state govt
SURAT: Surat city BJP has demanded subsidy for domestic air connectivity and funds for construction of international class cricket stadium from state government for the fiscal 2016-17.
In a written proposal, city BJP president Purnesh Modi has asked state finance minister Saurabh Patel to allocate funds for six major projects that Surat city needs to be taken up in priority in the city.

These projects include subsidy for air connectivity with major cities of Gujarat from Surat namely Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhuj; financial aid for construction of international level cricket stadium at Palanpore; funds for 300-feet outer ring road project; metro rail project; additional funds for traffic management staff and allocation of funds for development of Dumas, Hajira beach as tourist destinations.
Purnesh Modi told TOI, “These projects are important for Surat and we have asked the state government to allocate funds for it.”
